Let the debates begin! We’re seeking those rare souls in the AI/ML community with a primarily technical opinion that goes against the status quo.
Example topics could be “Is GPT-3 conscious?” or “What is big tech’s relationship with its own AI ethics/Responsible AI teams?”
The winners of each debate—chosen by the audience—will have eternal bragging rights.
Zack is an Assistant Professor of Machine Learning and Operations Research at Carnegie Mellon University. His research spans core ML methods and theory, their applications in healthcare and NLP, and critical concerns, both about the mode of inquiry itself, and the impact of the technology it produces on social systems.
Colin is Head of Research at Abacus.AI. His work focuses on automating the search for high-performing deep learning models, as well as explaining and de-biasing them. He also designs innovative methods by drawing insights from large-scale studies and designing tools for better benchmarking of ML techniques.
